Cats or Dogs?

*** Giveaway closed. Congratulations to Carol S., the winner! ***

Do you prefer cats or dogs? If you're familiar with my books, you probably already know my answer. But, in all honesty, I'm a dog fan too. And just because I don't have any dogs in my life doesn't mean I can't enjoy reading about them.

Speaking of which, I'm excited to announce that my friend Valerie Burns has a new book out this week in her Dog Club Mystery series. Coincidentally, I also have a new Paige Sleuth Cozy Cat Caper Mystery book out, which means no matter where you stand on the cat vs. dog debate you have a reason to celebrate right now!

Valerie was nice enough to send me a Kindle copy of her second Dog Club Mystery, The Puppy Who Knew Too Much, to give away to one lucky reader. This is a gift ebook delivered by Amazon.com, which I believe means you must be a United States resident in order to redeem it. Since I like to make my contests open to everyone, if the winner does not live in the United States I will substitute any ebook from the Cozy Cat Caper Mystery series as your prize. Please see my website for the full rules if you'd like, then enter the giveaway using the Rafflecopter at the end of this post. Good luck!

And here's a peek at the books Valerie and I have out this week:

Bark If It's Murder by V.M. Burns

When a last-minute opportunity arises to accompany her boss to an art auction in Atlanta, Lilly throws some money at the problem of where to board her toy poodle Aggie (short for Agatha Christie). Posh Pet Haven offers the most luxurious canine accommodations in all of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The place even provides pet cams so anxious owners can check in on their pampered pooches.

But when Lilly tries to take a peek at her poodle, she gets a terrible shock—she witnesses what she’s sure is a murder. She thinks the victim may be the wealthy co-owner of Pet Haven. The police follow her lead but find no body, no evidence of a crime, and no video record. Starting to feel like the dog owner who cried wolf, Lilly decides to go undercover to catch a killer who may be hiding in plain sight . . .

Clean Kill in Cherry Hills by Paige Sleuth

Sometimes murder is the only way to clean up the neighborhood.

Kat Harper's leisurely Sunday afternoon at her police detective boyfriend Andrew's house comes to an abrupt halt when a stray cat leads them to a dead body next door. Tragic as it is, nobody is surprised to learn the neighborhood hoarder lost his life in a mess of his own making.

Or did he?

The police soon rule Glen Havelin's death a homicide, but how do you narrow down the suspect list for a victim nobody liked? The deeper Kat digs, the more certain she is that Glen racked up more enemies than neighborhood code violations. But that won't stop the amateur sleuth from getting to the truth . . . not even after she's told her quest for "whodunit" might be putting her relationship with Andrew in jeopardy.
