"Buy in July" Results and a Book Giveaway

*** Giveaway closed. Congratulations to Kim H., the winner! ***

Hello, everyone! First, the results of Paige Sleuth's third annual "Buy in July" event are in. I'm so happy to report that together we raised $676 for the Community Cat Coalition of Clark County. That's enough to fund the spay/neuter surgeries of 22 feral cats. I can't thank you all enough for supporting this author career of mine, and I appreciate each and every one of you who purchased one of my books during July, visited or commented on one of my blog stops last month, helped to spread the word about my "Buy in July" promotion, or made the event possible in the first place by reading my books throughout the year. You all are the best readers I ever could have hoped for.

Now on to the book giveaway! This week I'm spotlighting two of my author friends. To help promote their upcoming releases, Jess Lourey and Shannon Baker are about to embark upon their third annual joint book tour that will run from August 23 through September 26. These talented women are funny, candid, and all around awesome people. If you follow their tour, I guarantee you'll find yourself laughing out loud at least once. Plus, there are bound to be some giveaways happening.

I've been lucky enough to win books from both of these authors in the past, and now it's time to pass them on! United States residents are welcome to enter to win one or both books and will receive my gently used, signed paperback(s) if they win. Non-US readers can choose one of these books and, if they win, they will either receive a new paperback or, if the Book Depository does not ship to their country, an alternate prize of my choosing. Please see my website for the full rules.

Read on to learn more about these authors and the books up for grabs, then enter using the Rafflecopter at the end of this post. Good luck!

Salem's Cipher by Jess Lourey

A troubled codebreaker faces an epic plot reaching back through centuries of America's secret history.

Salem Wiley is a genius cryptanalyst, courted by the world's top security agencies ever since her quantum computing breakthrough. She's also an agoraphobe shackled to a narrow routine since her father's suicide. When her intelligence work unexpectedly exposes a sinister plot to assassinate the country's first viable female presidential candidate, Salem finds herself both target and detective in a modern day witch hunt.

Drawn into a labyrinth of messages encrypted by Emily Dickinson and codes tucked inside the Beale Cipher a hundred years earlier, Salem begins to uncover the truth: an ancient and ruthless group is hell-bent on ruling the world, and only a select group of women stands in its way.

Please be forewarned, Jess's book contains language and gore.
