Murder, Curlers & Cream Giveaway!

*** Giveaway closed. Congratulations to Cathy I., the winner! ***

I've been running the occasional giveaway from my Facebook page when I come across a book I'd like to share, but I thought I'd try doing one from my blog instead. This is my first time doing this so if you run into any issues posting comments, please let me know at marlabradeen@gmail.com.

Without further ado, this giveaway is for an ebook copy of Murder, Curlers & Cream by Arlene McFarlane. If you like humorous mysteries with a touch of romance, you're going to love this story. It's witty and fun and just an overall good read. I should warn you though, it is not a pure cozy. The book contains some language and a couple sexual references, but nothing raunchy. If you're okay with that, read on.

Valentine Beaumont is a beautician with a problem. Not only has she got a meddling mother, a wacky staff, and a dying business, but now she's got a dead client who was strangled while awaiting her facial.

With business the way it is, combing through this mystery may be the only way to save her salon. Until a second murder, an explosion, a kidnapping, death threats, and the hard-nosed Detective Romero complicate things. But Valentine will do anything to untangle the crime. That's if she can keep her tools of the trade in her bag, keep herself alive, and avoid falling for the tough detective.

In the end, how hard can that be?

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below telling me if you've ever had a makeover or share a memorable salon experience. You must include your name and email address with your comment so I can reach you if you win. Since I can only gift ebooks from Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com, the winner must either be able to accept ebooks from one of those sites or else they will receive an alternate prize of my choosing. See my website for the full rules. Giveaway closes at midnight Eastern on November 21, 2017. Good luck!

    1. Well, at least you were brave enough to try it once! My hair doesn't do curls either. (Love your email handle, by the way! I have two evil kitties.)

  2. I have never had a makeover. Don't have any particularly memorable experience from a salon, either, I have always done my own hair. Thanks for the chance to win

  3. I did have a makeover years ago. It's nice to have someone else do your make-up for a change.

  4. I’ve never had a makeover but my most memorable haircut was the ‘new’ Dorothy Hamill haircut back in late 1960/early 1970. That cut has been my all time favorite and it’s so hard to find anyone who can cut it now. Thank you for the chance to win. mjhopper(at)cox(dot)net

    1. It's interesting how certain haircuts go out of style. I'm like you. I've had my same general hairstyle for years now. If it works, I see no reason to change!
